First Words

After 16 months, Elise has decided to start saying a few words. She now has about 3 words that she seems to intentionally say. "Daddy" - this word seems to be used for many different things, but she does occasionally use it correctly. "Bye Bye" - She is getting pretty good at this one and seems to know the appropriate time to use it along with waving. And the final one is "Roomba." This is our robotic vacuum cleaner that she is very afraid of, but enjoys looking at it from a safe distance. She will crawl over to it, point at it and say, "mmmba." So, to recap, our Elise's brilliant first words are: Daddy, Bye Bye, and Roomba. Now if we can just get her to walk...

I think Elise is really saying "Hm-Bop" in an effort to reunite Hanson.

Rise my child and walk!

Okay, lets really think about this... its all nice and good and exciting when your child begins to walk. HOWEVER, once they're mobile you can no longer control them. And since control is the most important thing about parenting (I think we all become parents just so we have another person to control), we should NEVER, EVER lose it. Therefore, I deduce that we should never teach our children to walk. Be thankful that she has not yet rebelled in this issue, like my rebellious children and all of the other rebels of the world. Good job, Elise - you are a good girl!

(I think when you start having millions of people reading your blog, I am going to be hunted down and tortured because people will not understand that I WAS KIDDING:)

Maybe saying "roomba" is an early indicator that in the future she will love to clean things? :)
