Labor Day Weekend 2006
We have returned from a our short trip to Grand Rapids over the Labor Day weekend. We had such a great time up there.
We got up early on Friday morning to get to the airport for our 7:15 flight, only to find out that it was delayed for an hour and a half. This meant we would not make our connecting flight in Cincinnati so they had to rebook us on a completely different airline to get us to GR at a reasonable time. I was nervous about how Elise would do on the flights and she did okay. There were a few tense moments when she would let out a yell that sent a few dirty looks our way, but overall, she did great. Friday evening we went to the wedding of our friends, Brent and Christina. Christina and I were college roommates and Brent and Jeremy were high school friends and college roommates. It was great to see all of our college friends that night. We are scattered all over the country now and all of us except a few were able to make it to the wedding.
Jer and I got a hotel room for the night and left Elise with Grandma and Grandpa. The next morning we had brunch with the newlyweds and the rest of the gang and then headed out to Jeremy's parents for the rest of the weekend. We had a nice time with them and had a chance to see the rest of the family, too. Elise was sufficiently spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa over the weekend and had a great time with them. This week has been declared "Elise Deprogramming Week" in our house. "No, Elise, you can't have ice cream for lunch." "No, Elise, you can't watch Sesame Street all day long." "No, Elise, you can't have cheetos for dinner."
It was a great weekend and we are so glad we were able to make it to the wedding and spend the weekend with the family. I hope you all had great Labor Day weekends as well!

Glad to see Brent and Christina make it official!
I bet Elise had a fab time with Grandma and Grandpa. And a night alone?!?! So we'll get an "announcement" in a few weeks?
I love the pictures you posted! The bride and groom are beautiful and you daughter....what can I say...she's too cute for words.
I was thinking the same thing Jen...4 weeks from now...what will Kim's be posting???
Cute pics! love Elise by the organ! I'm glad you had an awesome weekend!
So a few weeks ago we saw Elise's shoes on the table and there was a ruckus by the commenters... yet today no one has a problem with her bare feet on the table?! Elise, some manners please! Even at Grandma's house, feet do not belong on the table... perhaps in Indiana they do those kinds of things, but not in civilized Michigan... Wait, you were born in the south - nevermind.
Glad you guys had some time away and even managed an adult night out! And Elise is so cute -- the pigtails are absolutely adorable!
gosh, she is so adorable! I just love her curls! Morgan's hair drives me insane - it is long and straight as a board!
So cheetos are bad for dinner? How much exactly, is too much seasame street?
